FaithFreaks.com

FaithFreaks.com is a Christian alternative to Myspace. It's almost disturbing to see how conservative Christians are trying to isolate themselves from the rest of the world. But, I decided to create a profile, just so that I could share my experience and my testimony with others. Within 10 minutes of having created my profile, I got many, many messages with people asking how it is possible to be gay and be a Christian. It was both overwhelming and encouraging to have that much dialog.

My headline to my profile says, "Yes! It is okay to be gay and be a Christian!" Seemed to have caught the attention of many people. However, my FaithFreaks.com profile was shut down by their administration within 24 hours. This morning I got an email from the administration of FaithFreaks.com:
I am sorry if you think it is ok to be gay and be a Christian but it is not ok. It says in the Bible that Homosexuality is an abomination to Christ. Please Change your headline and do not promote being gay on the site. We will be praying for you. God Bless
I am debating over whether it is worth responding to. I've been shut out of many Christian colleges and universities, but never banned from a website in such a rude manner. I'm a Christian, so I feel I deserve every right to be on that site as anyone else. There terms of agreement do not forbid gay users, nor do they say you can't advocate for loving all people.

    This is "christian" craziness! Even IF....I mean really IF....it is a sin to act on your gayness....(which i'm not saying it is)...but there is absolutley no understanding of the grace involved in thier own salvation if they don't get that asking "how can a gay be a Christian" is the exact same thing as asking "how can a straight be a Christian?".

    I am a christian as well...I have a space on faithfreaks and myspace...I have considered deleting my faithfreaks spot because of the so called "christian" responsing to bullitens I have answered...I guess they didnt want the Truth, just a standard of thinking to promote their good works..which somehow make them more spiritual them others...

    well none of us are holy, only God...even in HIs human form He committed no sin.....

    So you just love the Lord and let him show you the love He has for you...IT's all that matters anyway..

    i completely agree with you. i have a faithfreaks however they are very strict on what you do. i think you can be gay and a christian, and that you can't help who you fall in love with, you should be able to follow whatever religion you want and love whoever you want :)
